Awards Convocation will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. in Gateway Community College's Curran Community Room (N100).

In recognition of your accomplishments as a graduate, Gateway Community College cordially invites all graduating students and a guest to the First Graduation Gala! The Gala will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Anthony’s Ocean View (450 Lighthouse Road in New Haven). Cocktails & hors d’oeuvres begin at 6:00 p.m. Dinner starts at 7:00 p.m. followed by dancing.
TICKETS: $20 for graduates, $40 for guests.
Join us for a cocktail and appetizer hour that will take place from 6-7p, followed by a buffet dinner at 7. Following dinner, there will be prizes and dancing until 10p. Tickets are $20 for graduates and $40 for guests and may be purchased at the Graduation Fairs on April 26 or May 2 from 9a-8p in the Student Activities Office, Room S110.

Caps & Gowns
Caps and gowns are required for all graduation candidates. There is a fee plus tax to purchase the cap and gown. If you are not able to attend a Graduation Fairs, beginning Monday, May 7, 2018 through Thursday, May 24, 2018, you must pick up your cap and gown at the Follett Bookstore.
Honor cords will be distributed at the Arena prior to the ceremony to students who have honors 3.4 or higher.
Rehearsal will take place on Monday, May 22 at 10:00 a.m. at The Oakdale Theater. Please make every effort to attend. Please plan ahead to be prompt.
During this time, graduates will be able to pick up their invitations and graduate name cards, pick up their cap and gown ($32.00 + tax fee), have portrait photographs taken, confirm graduation status, speak to a representative from Career Services, and sign up family members who will require accessible seating due to a disability. A photo ID is required to pick up your tickets.
Guests will NOT be allowed into the Webster Bank Arena until 9:00 a.m. Guests will be allowed to enjoy the ConcessionStands. Your guests should proceed directly to the Arena’s Main Entrance for their seating. Please request that your guests allow enough time to be seated prior to the start of the ceremony. Arena policy is that all bags are subject to search. Additionally, there is no storage area to secure or store personal belongings. Let your guests know that the following items are strictly prohibited inside the arena:
Please refrain from tossing any objects during the graduation ceremony. Please silence your cell phones during the ceremony. To honor all graduates, we require a commitment from you and your guests to remain in your designated seat for the duration of the ceremony (approximately two hours).
If you are not able to attend a Graduation Fair, you will be able to pick up your tickets in the Dean of Students’ Office, Room N220. A photo ID is required to pick up your tickets. Tickets are required for all guests, including small children.

Graduate Name Cards for Graduating Students
You will need to pick up your Graduate Name Card at the Graduation Fair. You must bring this card with you to Graduation. Its purpose is to announce your name and degree/certificate. The Graduate Name Card also serves as the information card for the photographers at the ceremony. Graduates will have the option of purchasing photographs by filling out the card. However, there is no obligation to do so.
A professional photographer will be available to take a portrait photographs at the Graduation Fair. The Graduate Name Card also serves as the information card for the photographer at the ceremony. Guests are not permitted in the aisles to take photographs during the Commencement Ceremony.
