Public Libraries

Public libraries provide support for the business community as well as for individuals, and provide print and electronic resources for their use. All public libraries in Connecticut welcome users from any town, but be sure to bring your hometown library card to check out books, use a computer, etc. You may need to bring your own storage device or pay for printing.

The New Haven Free Public Library is within walking distance of Gateway College at 133 Elm Street, on the New Haven Green.

Yale University

Yale University generously offers limited privilages to the public. Access to most databases is provided on site. "...[Non-Yale] researchers have access to at least one research workstation in each library that is open to the general public. Individual libraries may identify one or more workstations as "general use" to insure such access. Library staff may require individuals who are not affiliated with Yale University to substantiate an appropriate research purpose in order to use library workstations." Click HERE for Yale's Complete Access Policy.  Please use the Yale facilities only for resources that are not available elsewhere.

Visitor's to the Sterling Memorial Library at Yale must register with the privileges office during daytime hours. The Center for Science and Social Science Information welcomes visitors at any time. Please know that policies are always subject to change.

Small Business Collection

The Gateway Library is home to the Small Business Resource Center. Look for the signs to find the library's collection of books for reference or for loan.
