Circulation Services for Fall 2021

  • Library hours are Mondays through Thursdays 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Virtual assistance is available Saturdays 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. but the College is closed on Saturdays. Library assistance and ways to contact us are available on the library homepage at www.gatewayct.edu/library.
  • A limited number of calculators will be available for semester check-out on a first-come, first-serve basis by visiting or contacting the library. Some calculators will be available for daily use for students taking classes on campus. An online graphing calculator app is available through Wabbitemu.org. More details are located in the box below.
  • Reserve textbooks are available for in-library use or for a one week loan period with no renewals.
  • There is a scanner with email and flash drive capability, and a copier/scanner with flash drive capability available in the library. Scanning is free and copies are $0.10 a page for b/w or $0.25 a page for color.
  • In addition to the library computers and printers, the computer labs in N200 and S212 are also open Mondays through Fridays 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • Laptops are available for semester loan on a first-come first-serve basis. Please stop at the circulation desk to check one out.
  • A limited number of laptops are available for 3 hour loans. Laptops may be taken out of the library and used throughout the College, but CANNOT leave the building.

Requesting Library Materials

The library stacks have re-opened and are available for browsing. However, if you are unable to come to the library during on campus open hours, library materials may be requested in a variety of ways:

  1. Making a request through the catalog:
    • GatewaySearch: www.gatewayct.edu/library or use the box at the bottom of this page
      1. Search for your book or other item
      2. Sign in with your NetID and password
      3. Click on the "Request" button and follow the instructions
  2. Contacting the library directly:

  3. You will receive an email in your Gateway email account when your item(s) is/are ready for pick up. If you have not received an email within two (2) business days, please contact the library though any of the above methods with the exception of GatewaySearch.
  4. Items will be left at the library table in the lobby of the North building on the corner of Church and George. You will need to present an ID to pick up your requested materials.
  5. Pick up hours are 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Friday.
  6. Masks MUST be worn to enter the College.
  7. Materials will be available for five (5) business days. Items that have not been picked up within that time frame will be returned to the library, checked back in, and you will need to submit a new request.

Returning Library Materials

  • Patrons wishing to return library materials (books, magazines, calculators, etc.) may use the drop-off box on the library table in the lobby of the North building on the corner of Church and George or come to the library to return them.
  • Drop-off hours are 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Friday.
  • Masks MUST be worn to enter the College.

Borrowing Graphing Calculators

  • A limited number of graphing calculators will be available for checkout for the semester by visiting or contacting the library. Calculators will also be available for daily use.
  • Once a request has been made, a calculator will be checked out to you. You will receive an email on your Gateway email indicating that it is ready for pick-up at the library table in the lobby of the North building on the corner of Church and George.
  • Pick up and drop-off hours are 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Friday.
  • Masks must be worn to enter the College.

Free Online Graphing Calculator

  • Patrons who wish to use a free online graphing calculator may find instructions on how to download the Wabbitemu app onto their phones and some tablets at the following site: http://wabbitemu.org/

Search the library catalog for books, eBooks, articles, DVDs, streaming videos, and more:

 
  • To request items for curbside pick-up, after clicking "Search", you must sign in with your NetID and password and then select the "Request" button.
  • Ebooks can be read or downloaded on a computer or electronic device. Off campus access will require your NetID and password.
