(New Haven) Emmy award winning TV journalist, radio talk show host and author, Diane Smith will speak at Gateway Community College on Monday, December 2 at 11:00 a.m., in Gateway Library Multipurpose Room (S217)
Smith, co-author of Obsessed: America’s Food Addiction- And My Own, will talk about her weight loss journey—the result of a challenge by co-author Mika Brezezinski who says, “it’s time we learned to stop blaming ourselves, and each other, and look at the real culprits—the food we eat and our addiction to it.” In return, Brezezinski vowed to gain ten pounds and accept herself at her new weight by overcoming her obsession with food.
Copies of the book will be available on site for a book signing to follow the talk.
This event is one of a series brought to the college through the Esther Haseltine Schiavone Cultural Fund, established through the Gateway Community College Foundation, Inc., to bring cultural and artistic events to the Gateway Community College for public enrichment.
